If you were hesitant to buy a new washer because of the economy, the federal government has given us a way to get something back.

This stimulus package offers you a chance to not only get a new washing machine but it can also get you cash for buying a new energy efficient model that will help save you money on your water bill and on your energy bills too. It is said that the American Family does more than 400 loads of laundry every year, can you imagine how much money you will save on your water bills every month.

The washing machines that qualify for these rebates include Whirlpool Washing Machines, LG Washing Machines, Maytag and Bosch Washing Machines and much more. You can find a front-loading machine or top loading washing machines. Energy Star Rated Washing Machines are included in the Cash for Appliances program.

This program may not be all over the airwaves just yet, there are still some things that need to be set up but one thing is for sure, this new program that offers anywhere from $ 50 – $ 200 off of the price of the qualifying washing machine. Each state will be getting a certain amount of money allotted to them for the rebate.

Right now it is not known how much money each appliance will get as far as a rebate goes but as we mentioned it can be anywhere from $ 50 to $ 200. Even if you spend $ 400 on a new washing machine and you receive a $ 50 rebate you are still saving money. Then every month you are saving money since energy star products are specially designed to help you save money. In some cases, there are rebates on energy star appliances too, so you may be able to get more than one rebate.

You should rush out on October 15, 2009 just to get a rebate on your washing machine. This program is not like cash for clunkers, there are no trade ins. You buy a new washing machine if you are interested in saving money every time you wash a load of laundry. This program will help stimulate the appliance stores as well as help homeowners save money on their energy bills, which is great for the environment as well. Keep your eyes open as time gets closers, there won’t be a restriction on which stores to buy from and they may release information as to specific brands etc.
