That will be an approved model, all energy star models are. You need to check the details of your state program when they become available. This will probably become available near the end of October.

I am remodeling my kitchen and have been comparing all types of appliances. I have a samsung french door model waiting at lowe’s for me to look at. It is energy star rated. How will I know if this model will be acceptable? Or will all energy star models be in the plan?

Hi Brenda,
The individual states are administering the Appliance Stimulus Program Rebates.
The states have until October 15, 2009 to submit their plans for the administration of the plan to the Federal Government. After that, the plans will be approved and money transfered to the individual state programs.
Start watching for the details of your states plan on and after the October 15th.

In the mean time, start looking for the best choice of a refridgerator for your Mom.
With a model as old as her’s there is a good chance that she will end up saving around $200 a year on her utility bill when it is replaced with a new Energy Star refrigerator.
Be in a position to immediately take advantage of the Appliance Stimulus Program Rebates when the program goes into effect in your state.
